Statement of Haringey Justice for Palestinians 27/9/2005

Freedom For Palestine!

What is happening to the Palestinians is an outrage!

It is a scandal that while world leaders talk of peace, Israel continues to block any moves to peace by continuing to create 'facts on the ground' such as new settlements, Bantustans for the 'natives', and continues building an apartheid wall in contravention of every tenet of humane behaviour.

Palestinians' territory is confiscated, their crops destroyed, and the people humiliated and oppressed daily by an army of occupation that obeys no known rules of civilised behaviour. The bomb outrages in London on 7th July and Blair’s self serving comments underline that it is time for people in Haringey to stand up and be counted for justice for the Palestinians. There can be no peace in the Middle East until the Palestinians achieve justice. That means the implementation of ALL United Nations Resolutions and human rights legislation, including the right of return for ALL Palestinian Refugees.

Who are we?

Haringey Justice for Palestinians is a broad based movement comprising local activists from the Labour Party, Respect, Liberal Democrats, Green party, justice campaigners, mosques, trade unionists and many others.

What do we plan?

  • A boycott of Israeli goods
  • Twinning with a Palestinian community.
  • Affiliation to the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign
  • Raising funds to help Palestinian charities and political campaigns

HJFP will campaign for Justice for Palestinians , for Israel to obey international law, the Geneva Convention , relevant UN Resolutions & the International Court of Justice.

HJFP is now a branch of the national Palestine Solidarity Campaign and will be involved in all its activities. PSC is an independent, non-governmental and non-party political organisation with members from many communities across Britain - and increasingly throughout the world.

HJFP opposes all forms of racism, anti-semitism or islamaphobia.
